Description
Our client an award winning Global Investment Company is seeking to build their team with an Execution Systems Engineer to join their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.
The company is an investment advisor, deploying quantitative hedge fund strategies to trade the global financial markets, with a long and successful track record.
The Role
The successful candidate will join the team developing and managing the firm’s complex & high frequency trading system. The role will involve project management work and close communication with traders and brokers. They will also be involved in maintaining and operating the in-house electronic analysis and trading systems in after hours rotation.
The ideal candidate will have excellent all round computing skills, mathematical ability, as well as project management experience in meeting deadlines under pressure coupled with, preferably, an exposure to the finance industry.
The individual
The key responsibilities of this role will be:
To further develop & support the company’s geographically distributed electronic trading platform
To identify business priorities and coordinate workload within the team
To understand and drive the complete development cycle
Responsible for the daily set up, running, monitoring and troubleshooting of the trading system that operates 24 hours a day and trades equities, futures and spot FX in Asia, Europe and North America.
To understand complex trading processes and systems and to help the ongoing development of control parameters, to ensure reliability, consistency, process quality and control.
Requirements:
A good honors Degree in science/computing/numerate/engineering field
Strong working knowledge of .NET (C#/VB.NET), distribution and SQL.
Ability to work well under pressure and have proactive approach to implementing enhancements and process improvements whilst maintaining precision.
Drive to learn and lead a team as well as taking ownership of projects.
Experience on software projects management or leading a small development team.
Experience within a high frequency trade support environment
The following skills will be an advantage:
Knowledge of Reuters, Bloomberg and other data suppliers
A good understanding of financial products and markets
Knowledge of FIX protocol
Working knowledge C++/Java and Matlab or other mathematical modelling software.
